Sketches in oils, painted en plein air

These oil sketches are painted on location.
It is always a challenge painting outdoors because the artist is totally exposed to the elements: temperature changes, suddenly upcoming winds or  rain, or fast changing light. Working outdoors with oil colors requires a quite challenging setting as you can see on the photo. But I enjoy it always because I am really painting using all my senses. It´s magical!
